Dave Chisnall reached the last eight of the International Darts Open in Riesa.
The Morecambe darts ace fell 6-4 to Belgian Premier League star Kim Huybrechts in Sunday evening’s quarter-finals after a good run at the European Tour event in Germany.
Chisnall’s strong showing included an impressive 6-2 win over Brendan Dolan in Sunday afternoon’s third round as he finished with a 104.97 average and 75 percent on the doubles.
Chisnall made a storming start to the match, expertly checking out 142 in the second leg to race into a 2-0 lead before letting the Northern Irishman back as he leveled at 2-2.
That would be as good as it would get for Dolan though as Chisnall reeled off the final four legs, completing the win with a brilliant 11-darter.
The resort thrower, who reached the semi-finals of this year’s Premier League, also defeat Matthew Edgar 6-0 in Saturday’s last 32.
The thumping win included four maximums and a 113 checkout in the penultimate leg as Chisnall kicked off his weekend in perfect fashion.
Michael Smith sealed his second European Tour title with a 6-3 win over Benito van de Pas in Sunday’s final.
