Dave Chisnall missed 14 match darts as he crashed out of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy on Sunday.

The Morecambe ace lost 6-5 to Adam Hunt as the former PDC Unicorn Youth Tour event winner reached his first European Tour quarter-final.

Chisnall had beaten James Hubbard 6-3 on Saturday to reach the last 16 at the Victoria Stadium.

In the final, James Wade ended a three-year wait for a tournament victory as he claimed an emotional win, defeating Steve Beaton 6-4.

The draw for the 2014 BetVictor World Matchplay next month has paired Chisnall with Dean Winstanley in round one.

The event at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool starts on July 19 live on Sky Sports.
