Dave Chisnall will face a familiar foe in the first round of the William Hill World Darts Championship.

The Morecambe ace, the current world number seven, has been drawn to face Austrian youngster Rowby-John Rodriguez for the second year running.

Darts’ premier competition takes place at the Alexandra Palace in London from December 15 to January 2 and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

After back-to-back World Championships Gary Anderson will begin his bid to claim a hat-trick against Mark Frost.

The bookies’ favourite however is world number one Michael van Gerwen who faces either Ross Snook or Kim Viljanen, who meet in the preliminary round.
