Dave Chisnall exited the Unibet European Championship at the first round stage on Friday night.

The Morecambe darts ace lost 6-3 to Australia’s Kyle Anderson at the Ethias Arena in Hasselt, Belgium.

Chisnall held an early 2-1 lead, but Anderson moved ahead with a superb 11-darter and also took out finishes of 126 and 102 as he progressed.

Michael van Gerwen claimed a third successive title with an 11-1 win over Austria’s Mensur Suljovic in Sunday night’s final.

Next up is the Ladbrokes World Series of Darts Finals this weekend at Glasgow’s Braehead Arena with Chisnall taking on either Jelle Klaasen or Kim Huybrechts in the second round on Saturday night.
