TORRISHOLME travelled to Preston on Saturday for their first away game of the season at newly promoted Penwortham.
Torrisholme skipper Matthew Jackson won the toss and asked the hosts to bat first.
Jackson began his impressive bowling performance when he clean bowled opener Stockford for a duck with only his 10th delivery.
Penwortham began to rebuild but it was man of the moment Jackson who took regular wickets to restrict Penwortham to 171, Andy Miller pulling off a smart run out off his own bowling to finish the innings.
Jackson finished with impressive figures of 7 for 50.
Torrisholme began their reply with openers Butler and Clarke, who smashed four sixes and two fours in his quick fire 33.
