ONE of the boxing stars of today cast his eye over the stars of tomorrow on Saturday night in Morecambe.

Undefeated English professional heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was at The Carleton to see his cousin Walter “Whirlwind” Fury and other promising young fighters from the Skerton Amateur Boxing Club.

The towering Tyson, who stands 6ft8, presented some of the awards to the boxers after the bouts.

The first bout saw Robert “Cannon” Dugdale of Skerton in his first competitive bout, Robert gave an outstanding performance and early in the third round caused damage to his opponents right eye to cause a stoppage.

Benny “Buzzsaw” Ellsmore was next in action and was unlucky to lose out on a close decision.
