Boxer, trainer and promoter Frank Harrington is training hard for the biggest fight of his life against the legendary Nigel Benn.
Ex-pro and Coastal Boxing Promotions boss Frank is getting himself into top shape ahead of his three-round tussle with the former world champion on Saturday, December 1.
Frank has been working with trainers Lee and Steven Woodruff and sparring with Marcus Duncan at his new gym on West End Road to prepare for the big clash at Lancaster and Morecambe College sports hall.
“It’s going to be an honour to step in the ring with Nigel Benn and I’m determined to do myself justice,” said Frank, 50. Benn, one of the most fearsome punchers ever to lace the gloves, has agreed to come out of retirement to box a series of exhibitions around the country.
On the card, Steve Douglas from Morecambe will face Aaron Helliwell from Bolton-le-Sands, and Tony Morgan from Lancaster will fight Alex Wisdom from Morecambe.
Marcus Duncan and Dave Standen will also fight on the bill. Greg Lambert will be MC.
Main sponsors are Jo and Cass and the Sultan restaurant of Lancaster. Money will be raised on the night in aid of The Twins Appeal. For tickets call 07789261768.
