Morecambe boss Jim Bentley doesn’t see why his side can’t make it four wins out of four at Cambridge United on Saturday.

The Shrimps top League 2 after winning their first three games of the season and will hope to carry on their perfect start in their first ever Football League meeting with the U’s.

But Bentley knows his side will face a tough task at the Abbey Stadium against a side led by the experienced Richard Money who guided Walsall to the League 2 title in 2007.
Bentley said: “I’d like to think we can make it four wins in a row.

“We got there full of confidence. We’ve got good momentum coming off the back of three wins and we’ll go there and try and win the game.

“We’ll do our homework and pay the opposition respect. They’ve just come up from the Conference and we know exactly what it’s like when you come up and you have that wining mentality and feel-good factor.

“They’ll be feeding on that. They’ve had a couple of decent results, are a strong, powerful side and the manager has loads of experience and know-how.

“We know it’s going to be a very difficult game for us but we’re full of confidence at the minute.

“We’re top of the table and want to stay there come quarter to five on Saturday.”

On the injury front the Shrimps have almost a clean bill of health with Ryan Edwards set to return to training towards the end of next week after finger surgery while Tom McCready returned to action in a behind-closed-doors game on Wednesday.
