Morecambe will be looking for their first ever victory over Wycombe at the Globe Arena on Saturday.
Gareth Ainsworth. Former Queens Park Rangers and Preston winger was appointed Wycombe player-manager after a successful caretaker spell in November 2012. Having taken over with Wanderers out of the League 2 relegation zone on goal difference, the 40-year-old guided his side to a 15th-placed finish before retiring as player in the summer on announcing a new two-year managerial contract.
Paris Cowan-Hall. Former Portsmouth youngster scored for the Chairboys on his debut against the Shrimps on the opening day of 2013-2014 season and has four goals to his name so far this campaign. Striker who can also play as a wide player signed a two-year deal at Adams Park after joining the club from Plymouth in the summer of 2013.
Currently 19th in League 2, the Chairboys have endured a frustrating Christmas and New Year period seeing games at home to Fleetwood and at Exeter postponed following 1-0 defeat at home to Newport County on Boxing Day. Lost 3-0 at Adams Park against AFC Wimbledon last time out on Saturday, January 4, with last victory coming with 4-1 win at Northampton on Saturday, December 21.
The Shrimps have never beaten Wycombe in nine attempts, with three draws and six victories for Saturday’s visitors to the Globe Arena. Wanderers beat Morecambe 1-0 on the opening day of the current campaign thanks to Cowan-Hall’s seventh-minute strike in a rare early season blip for Jim Bentley’s side.
