Morecambe welcome league leaders Chesterfield to the Globe Arena on Saturday.

Paul Cook.

Former Accrington boss has steered the Spireites to the top of the table this season.

Took over at the end of October 2012 and guided Chesterfield to eighth place last year, just two points outside the League 2 play-off
places.

Impressive signings means his side are considered one of the favourites to escape the Football League’s bottom tier this year.

Key man

Jay O’Shea.

Gary Roberts has been the lynchpin for Cook’s side this season but after a straight red card in the derby with Mansfield on Saturday the former Swindon man will be
suspended.

Number 10 O’Shea will play as the centre of three men behind a lone front man, who could be Marc Richards if he returns from injury in time.

Excellent play maker will hope to supply goals at the Globe Arena on Saturday.

Form

Lost for the first time in the league this season at home to Mansfield on Saturday
lunchtime, Calvin Andrew scoring the only goal of the game.

Top the table by four points from Oxford having won seven of their nine league games so far this
season.

History

Chesterfield have only won one of the 11 meetings
between the sides in all competitions, a 1-0 win at the Shrimps in January
2010.

The draw is the most common result, occurring six times.

In last season’s corresponding fixture at the Globe Arena almost exactly 12 months ago, Morecambe ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from the now-departed Gary McDonald and Lewis Alessandra.

Possible line-up

Lee, Talbot, Hird, Cooper, Humphreys, Morsy, Ryan, Darikwa, O’Shea,McSheffrey, Richards.
