Old friends Morecambe and Dagenham and Redbridge meet at Victoria Park on Saturday.
The 42-year-old took over as caretaker manager in February 2013 following John Still’s departure to Luton. Took over on a permanent basis in May following the Daggers’ survival in League 2.
Burnett’s side look set to be without their key man with a groin injury. The 17-goal striker, who turned down a move to Peterborough in the January transfer window, has been nursing the problem for around six weeks and missed the draw at Exeter on Saturday. Another attacking threat, Zavon Hines, is also struggling with a knee problem.
After a run of five games without a win the Daggers were 2-1 winners at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night. It leaves them 13th, a point and a place behind the Shrimps in League 2.
The Daggers and the Shrimps are old friends having faced each other on 29 separate occasions in both the Conference and League 2. Morecambe have 13 wins to Dagenham’s 11 with five draws. There have been plenty of ups and downs along the ways for the Shrimps, the lowest point being the 6-0 defeat at Victoria Road in the League 2 play-off semi-finals in 2010. The two sides drew 2-2 at the Globe Arena back in September with Murphy rescuing a point for the visitors with the last kick of the game.
