Morecambe celebrate their fifth goal in the win at AFC Wimbledon earlier in the season.

Morecambe welcome play-off chasers AFC Wimbledon to the Globe Arena on Saturday as The Shrimps look for a first win in 11 League 2 games.

Manager

Neil Ardley

A Crazy Gang legend as a player, former winger has been Dons manager since 2012 making him the ninth longest serving in England. After two finishes in 20th and one of 15th last season, Ardley has Wimbledon right in the play-off mix this time around.

Key Man

Lyle Taylor

Former Sheffield United and Scunthorpe striker has 15 goals to his name this season and looks to be the main threat to The Shrimps on Saturday. More high-profile front man Adebayo Akinfenwa will miss the game after being sent off late on against Bristol Rovers for dissent.

Form

Currently seventh in League 2, in the final play-off spot, but 3-1 defeat at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night means the Dons are now four games without a win. Ardley’s men had stormed towards the promotion places with seven wins from their previous eight games.

History

It’s all square in nine meetings between the sides with three wins apiece and three draws. Morecambe were at their counter attacking best in a 5-2 win in the reverse fixture back in October, a Shaun Miller stunner from 35 yards the pick of the goals. In last season’s game at the Globe Arena the sides drew 1-1, Padraig Amond cancelling out Jake Reeves’ goal.

Possible line-up

Roos, Fuller, Robinson. Sweeney, Meades, Rigg, Reeves, Bulman, Kennedy, Taylor, Elliott.
