Morecambe will look to continue their fine away form at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

Manager

Neil Ardley

A member of Wimbledon’s Crazy Gang as a player Ardley has been Dons manager for just over three years. Finished a solid 15th in League 2 last year having ended up 20th 12 months earlier.

Key Man

Adebayo Akinfenwa

The Beast is a man who needs no introduction. Being League 2’s celebrity front man shouldn’t take away from his undoubted ability leading the line however. Now 33, the well-travelled former Northampton and Gillingham striker has three goals to his name so far this season.

Form

Ardley’s Dons are currently 14th in League 2, a point and two places behind The Shrimps. Form has been pretty solid with Dons losing just two of their last nine, including 1-0 defeat at Oxford on Saturday with George Baldock on target 10 minutes from time. Have won four, drawn four and lost four of their 12 league games this season.

History

Both sides have had their share of success in eight meetings over the last four seasons. The Shrimps have won twice with three draws and three Dons wins. Wimbledon won last season’s corresponding fixture 1-0 with Akinfenwa scoring the only goal of the game. The reverse fixture at the Globe Arena finished 1-1 in January with Padraig Amond’s equaliser handing The Shrimps a point.

Possible line-up

Shea, Fuller, Robinson, Meades, Osborne, Bulman, Reeves, Barcham, Rigg, Azeez, Akinfenwa.
