MORECAMBE manager Jim Bentley’s hopes of bringing in a League 1 front man on loan have hit a snag.
The player in question has been suffering a knee problem and is currently undergoing treatment with his parent club so Bentley says the Shrimps will wait until they receive further reports before concluding the deal for a player the manager says he is still keen to sign.
The Shrimps’ boss said: “I still want to bring the player in and I was hoping it would be sorted by now but he has suffered a setback which is unfortunate.
“The deal was more or less done until the injury and it is really unfortunate for both parties but there would be no point bringing him in at the moment and not playing.
“Hopefully the injury will be sorted as soon as possible and we can bring him here to strengthen the squad.”
The setback means Bentley’s side will travel to face Bristol Rovers this weekend for their first game in three weeks after having two successive free Saturdays.
