A disastrous opening 20 minutes for Slyne meant that this Richardson Cup quarter-final was over as a contest before it started on Saturday.
The visiting league leaders were intent on showing the hosts no mercy and took the lead after just 37 seconds when Carl Grimshaw coolly rounded the ‘keeper to score.
An error in the seventh minute by ‘keeper Ben Price saw Charnock increase their lead as he came too far for a Woods right-wing corner and helped the ball into his own net.
Charnock made it 3-0 10 minutes in when Andy Roberts drilled a shot past Price.
Worse was to follow for Slyne as Charnock scored a fourth goal on 18 minutes as Woods hit a free-kick from which Grimshaw got in front of his marker to head home.
Slyne hit the bar before the break and pulled a goal back on 52 minutes.
Dan Parkinson’s cross ended up in the top corner of the net via a Charnock defender’s glanced header.
Ten minutes later the visitors made it five as Fisher was left with a simple tap.
Slyne’s best move of the game was rewarded on 76 minutes as James Galley rifled the ball home.
But the home side’s day to forget ended on a low note as Neil Uberschar was shown a red card for a wild two-footed tackle on Roberts.
