Morecambe Reserves picked up their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw at Tranmere Rovers on Wednesday afternoon.

In an entertaining game a late equaliser from Declan Watson earned the Shrimps a share of the spoils in a game played at Cammell Laird FC.

Liam Davies gave Tranmere the lead, finding the net with a left-foot strike from the edge of the area early in the first half.

But Morecambe were always well in the game and had chances themselves with Tom Woods hitting a post and Joe Mwasile going close when put through in goal.

Davies missed a chance to double the lead after half-time but at the other end Tranmere keeper Sam Ramsbottom made a number of fine saves before the Shrimps scored a well-earned equaliser with just a few minutes remaining through Watson.

Substitute Alex Naylor helped work the opening as he shared passes with Watson who calmly finished past Ramsbottom.

Morecambe Reserves: Arestidou, McGowan, Doyle, Bell, Bowman, Mwasile, McGee, Williams (Newton), Watson, Holness (Naylor), Woods.
