Morecambe left back James Short has joined Kendal Town on loan for a month with another Shrimps youngster set to follow him out of the Globe Arena on a short-term deal.

The first-year professional spent a spell with Lancaster City earlier in the season and has now been drafted in to help the Cumbrian side’s battle against relegation from the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

Young midfielder Joe McGee, who recently made his Football League debut at Chesterfield, could also be farmed out to get some first-team experience.

Shrimps boss Jim Bentley said: “Loan spells have really helped in the development of Dan Parkinson and Joe Mwasile and Joe would benefit from playing every Saturday for a while.”
