SHRIMPS’ boss Jim Bentley is hopeful that striker Jack Redshaw will complete his switch to the Globe Arena in the next few days.
The Altrincham youngster impressed for the Shrimps on trial this week and scored twice at Tranmere last week for the Reserves in a game watched by Bentley, who has offered the player an 18 month deal.
Redshaw, 21, will be the second young front man to join the club in a week with former Chesterfield teenager Jordan Burrow signing a similar 18 month deal at the weekend.
Bentley also says he is close to bringing in an experienced League 1 striker on loan this week.
Talks are at an advanced stage as the Shrimps boss looks to sharpen his attacking options while his players take a weekend off.
Bentley said: “Jack has agreed a deal and we hope to get everything sorted as soon as possible.
“He is a fantastic prospect and the way he linked up with Jordan last week was really promising.”
