This Saturday, The Shrimps travel to York for the first time since the Conference play-off semi-finals in 2007.

Manager

Gary Mills. The 51-year-old former Nottingham Forest and Leicester midfielder arrived at club from Tamworth in October 2010. Ended Minstermen’s eight-year Football League absence with play-off final victory in May 2012.

One to watch

Jason Walker. The 28-year-old Barrow-born forward had a brief spell with The Shrimps in 2007. Has an excellent strike rate for the Minstermen since joining from Luton for a reported £60,000 in June 2011. Scored eight goals in all competitions this season.

History

First meeting in five years between the two sides, and first in Football League, ended in a 2-2 draw at the Globe Arena in August. Shrimps’ last trip to York came in the first leg of the 2007 Conference play-off semi-final. A 0-0 draw in that game was followed by a 2-1 win at Christie Park to take The Shrimps to Wembley.

Form

Only won one of last seven in League 2, 3-0 win over Burton Albion on New Year’s Day. Run has included four draws and sees the Minstermen in 16th in League 2, one place and one point above Jim Bentley’s side.

Possible line-up

Ingham, Obeng, Smith, Parslow, O’Connell, Kerr, Blair, Potts, McLaughlin, Rodman, Walker.
