Morecambe travel to Wycombe on Saturday hoping to put a dent in the Chairboys’ promotion hopes and pick up a first ever victory over Gareth Ainsworth’s side.
Former Preston North End, Wimbledon and Queens Park Rangers winger has overseen something of a transformation this season. After avoiding relegation out of the Football League on the final day of last season Wanderers find themselves well in the automatic promotion hunt entering the final two games of the season.
Well-travelled front man is the Chairboys’ top scorer this season with 13 goals in all competitions having arrived at Adams Park in the summer. The 31-year-old is most well known for three spells at Scunthorpe but has also turned out for Preston North End, Barnsley, Charlton and Brentford.
Wycombe are third in League 2, occupying the final automatic promotion places thanks to a superior goal difference to Phil Brown’s Southend. Have lost just two of 13 in League 2 but 0-0 draw at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday was a blow to their promotion hopes.
Morecambe have never beaten Wycombe in 11 League 2 meetings between the sides. Wanderers have picked up seven wins, including a 3-1 triumph at the Globe Arena in October, with four draws.
