Morecambe host Plymouth Argyle at the Globe Arena this Saturday in a 3pm kick-off.

Manager

John Sheridan

Former Oldham and Chesterifield boss is taking charge of his first full season in charge after arriving at Home Park in January 2013. After finishing 10th in League 2 signed a new three-year deal in May.

Key Man

Lewis Alessandra

A familiar face to Shrimps fans, the winger or forward largely impressed during his two years at the Globe Arena before turning down a new deal in the summer of 2013 to join up with the manager who handed him his Football League debut at Oldham. Scored 13 goals in all competitions in his first season at Home Park.

Form

Sheridan’s side sit eighth in League 2 on 10 points having won three, drawn one and lost two of their opening six games this season. Have won their last two, 2-0 at home to Southend and 1-0 at Luton last time out on Saturday, Dominic Blizzard’s goal enough to hand the Pilgrims all three points.

History

Plymouth have had the better of the six meetings between the sides over the last three years, winning three times with two draws and just one Shrimps win. Last season there was a win apiece but the Shrimps’ 5-0 drubbing at Home Park was a particular low point in the campaign.

Possible Line-up

McCormick, Mellor, McHugh, Nelson, Hartley, Alessandra, Banton, Blizzard, Cox, O’Connor, Reid.
