Manager

Ronnie Moore

Former Tranmere boss arrived as Pools’ third manager of the season in December after Colin Cooper’s resignation and short reign of Paul Murray. New owner Peter Harris has put his faith in the 62-year-old hoping he can steer the Victoria Park side to an unlikely escape from relegation.

Middlesbrough loanee started his first game against Burton on Saturday after a few substitute appearances. The 20-year-old, who will likely start on the right wing again, has pace to burn and real energy and quick feet. Have arguably their two best players, Michael Woods and Scott Fenwick, out injured at the moment.

Form

Pools are seven points adrift at the bottom of League 2 Moore’s men have won one of their last five, losing their last two. Lost 1-0 at home to top of the table Burton on Saturday with Florent Cuvelier scoring a last-minute goal on his debut.

History

Four games between the sides have resulted in one Morecambe win, one draw and two Pools victories. Shrimps won 2-0 in the North East between Christmas and New Year. Hartlepool won last season’s corresponding fixture 2-1 at the Globe Arena in December 2013.
