Morecambe host high-flying Bury at the Globe Arena this Saturday, November 15, in a 2.30pm kick-off.
Former Barnsley boss joined Bury in December 2013 and guided the Shakers to a 12th-placed finish having been threatened with relegation. With a host of new signings will have loftier ambitions this season with his side making a promising start.
Having impressed on loan at the JD Stadium striker signed a three-year contract with the Shakers in August as he moved from hometown club Barnsley. The 20-year-old has seven goals to his name in all competitions so far this season.
One of the fancied sides in League 2, fourth-placed Bury’s form has been largely impressive this season. Surprise 5-0 defeat at Shrewsbury in October represented unpredictable nature of the division but Flitcroft’s side had been unbeaten in three before JPT exit at the hands of Tranmere.
It’s pretty much even stevens between the sides in the league in 10 previous meetings. There have been three Morecambe wins, three draws and four Bury wins. Last season’s game at the Globe Arena was a 0-0 draw on the final day of last season.
The Shakers were 3-1 winners in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie between the sides in October.
