Slyne’s losing run continued as they slumped to a 3-1 home defeat against Coppull United on Saturday.
The visitors took the lead after just seven minutes when they broke quickly from their own half, the ball was crossed perfectly from the left flank into the path of the prolific Gregg Brickell who calmly finished from five yards out.
Coppull increased their lead after 20 minutes when a quickly-taken-free kick from Nathan Fairhurst was missed by Brickell, who appeared to be standing in an offside position.
However, the ball was also missed by the distracted Price in the home goal and the ball crept into the bottom corner of the net with the home defence appealing in vain for an offside decision.
Undeterred Slyne quickly reduced the deficit when a neat ball was played into Jimmy Love inside the Coppull penalty area, he touched the ball into the path of the advancing Luke Ogley who steered the ball into the opposite corner of the net past the on-rushing goalkeeper.
Slyne kept the momentum in the second half but despite plenty of possession never really troubled the visiting goalkeeper until a stunning free-kick from Tom Entwisle from 25 yards out saw the goalkeeper spread himself full length, clawing the ball away with his finger tips.
The visitors were always dangerous on the counter attack and with 15 minutes remaining scored a third goal when neat play by Chris Robinson on the left flank saw him beat two defenders before slipping the ball into Brickell, who turned his marker before lashing the ball into the top corner of the net.
This goal completely deflated Slyne as the visitors were able to play out the remaining minutes of the match and inflict another defeat on the home side.
