Morecambe youngster Chris Doyle is heading back to Chorley on loan.
The central defender, 20, enjoyed a successful spell with the National League North side last season as they lost in the play-off final.
Doyle, whose youth loan is initially set for 28 days, signed a new one-year contract at the Globe Arena this summer and is highly thought of at the club.
He is set to feature against FC United on Tuesday night.
Boss Jim Bentley revealed the Liverpudlian nearly joined a Conference National side before returning to Victory Park.
He said: “It’s important young players play and develop.
“He nearly went to a Conference National side but it fell through but Chorley’s a good club at a good level who he knows and he did well for them last season, so we wish him well.”
