Old friends Dagenham are the next to visit the Globe Arena.
Wayne Burnett. The 42-year-old was assistant boss to John Still and took over as caretaker when the long-serving Daggers boss dropped into the Conference to take charge at Luton in February. After ensuring League 2 survival Burnett was handed the managerial reigns on a permanent basis in May.
Zavon Hines. Former West Ham United youngster signed a one-year contract with the Daggers in August after being released by Bradford over the summer. Exciting talent has also spent as season at Burnley and time on loan at Coventry and Bournemouth. Scored twice on England Under 21 debut against Macedonia back in October 2009.
Daggers are without a win away from home this season after defeats at Fleetwood and Mansfield and a draw at Scunthorpe. Unbeaten at home however and sit 14th in League 2 with nine points from seven their first seven games, beating Bristol Rovers 2-0 last time out on Saturday.
The Shrimps and the Daggers have had some memorable meetings down the years. Last year’s clash at the Globe Arena was the free game that saw more than 4,000 fans see Andy Parrish give the home side a 2-1 win. The most forgettable game for the Shrimps was the 6-0 reverse the first leg of the 2010 League 2 play-off semi-final. Morecambe did however win the second leg 2-1 in the final game at Christie Park, Dave Artell scoring the winning goal. In total the sides have met 28 times with 13 Morecambe wins, 11 Dagenham wins and four draws.
