MORECAMBE have signed Macclesfield Town midfielder Izak Reid on a two-year deal.
The Visitor revealed last week that an unnamed winger was set to travel to the Globe Arena on Saturday to put pen to paper, and Reid has now become Jim Bentley’s second signing of the summer for a fee yet to be agreed.
The Shrimps will have to pay a fee for the out of contract 23-year-old as he is under 24.
The clubs are still negotiating a fee, and if they cannot agree one, the transfer will go to a tribunal.
Reid said: “Jim really sold the club to me and I’m delighted to be here. He made it clear he really wanted me and that was nice to hear.
“He also spoke so passionately about his hopes for the season and the direction he wants to take the club that it didn’t take long to convince me that this was a good move for me.
Bentley said: “Izak is a great signing for us. I have an idea of how I want to play and he fits into that style really well.
“He has had some great games against us in the past and I am sure he will be another great asset for us.”
He is the second wide man to join the club this summer following the arrival of Kevin Ellison from Rotherham a fortnight ago.
