Morecambe Ladies bounced back from their first league defeat of the season with a narrow victory over Wigan on Sunday.
The Shrimps girls scraped to a 1-0 win at Garswood United FC in their bid to secure back-to-back promotions.
Jo Norris’ goal means the ladies are now third in the North West Women’s Premier Division two points behind Tranmere in second and three behind Blackpool at the top.
The Shrimps have played the same number of games as Tranmere but have two games in hand on seaside rivals Blackpool.
From this Sunday, April 21, the girls face four games in a frantic week with the season looking set to go down to the wire.
The ladies start their packed final run-in with a trip to City of Manchester.
The game at the Hough End Centre in Chorlton kicks off at 2pm.
The girls will once again be without top scorer Megan Doherty through injury but are hopeful she will return for the final three games of the season, starting with Crewe on April 23.
