Former Morecambe left back Laurence Wilson has joined Accrington Stanley on a deal until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old left The Shrimps for Rotherham in the summer after turning down the offer of a new contract.

But the former Chester man had been back training with the club since he left the Millers by mutual consent at the end of November, before signing for Leam Richardson’s side.

Wilson told Stanley’s official website: “Things didn’t really go my way at Rotherham but I’m really happy to have got something sorted and hopefully I can now come here, play a few games and help out when I can.

“It was a very easy decision to come here. I spoke to the manager and came in and trained with the lads and I think I agreed the deal the same day.”
