Morecambe will be hoping to end their recent poor away run with victory at Chesterfield on Saturday.

Manager

Paul Cook. Former Accrington Stanley boss took over at the end of October following John Sheridan’s sacking after failing to win any of first four games of the season following relegation from League 1 last term. Cook has guided Spireites from lower mid-table to just outside the play-off places.

One to watch

Luis Boa Morte. Former Arsenal and West Ham man made the surprise move to the Proact in October following a chance meeting with former Fulham teammate and Spireites coach Mark Crossley. Still searching for his first goal, but 35-year-old has had a positive impact on younger players in the squad.

History

Sides have met nine times in League 2, Shrimps winning three times and losing just once. Jim Bentley’s side won the reverse fixture this season 2-0 in October thanks to goals from Gary McDonald and Lewis Alessandra either side of half-time, a result which handed Morecambe their first home win of the season.

Form

Cook’s side have climbed up the table only losing one of their last seven League 2 games, a 3-0 defeat at Southend on December 21. They did however bounce back with a 3-0 win at home to York on Boxing Day, all the goals coming in the second half.

Possible line-up

Lee, Smith, Hird, Talbot, Cooper, Togwell, Darwikwa, Randall, Townsend, O’Shea, Boa Morte.
