Jim Bentley is confident his side can win at Rochdale for the second time this season on Tuesday night as they bid to secure an FA Cup second round date with Coventry.
A Jack Redshaw brace against his former club gave The Shrimps a 2-1 win at Spotland last month in League 2.
And Bentley believes his side can repeat the feat in tonight’s first round replay against John Coleman’s charges after the two sides shared a 1-1 draw at the Globe Arena.
“We all know we can count ourselves fortunate to still be in the cup after a below-par performance in the first game,” said Bentley.
“But we lived to fight another day and we will look to make the most of that now, though again we know it will be tough.
“Rochdale are coming into form themselves and a have a really good squad of players.
“They showed at the Globe what they are capable of but they also know that we are a decent side as well.
“We beat them at Spotland only a few weeks ago with a really good performance and there is no reason why we can’t do it again.
“There is the added incentive for both teams of a good second round draw at Coventry as well as the obvious financial benefits a win would bring to the clubs.”
Key trio Barry Roche, Will Haining and Jack Redshaw are a doubt for the game after missing the 4-1 win over Barnet on Saturday.
The game is also likely to come too soon for Robbie Threlfall with the left back fit again after his recent thigh injury.
His return to action however means impressive loanee Jordan Mustoe has returned to parent club Wigan, having played the last game of his month-long spell in the win over Barnet.
