TEAM GB’s men’s water polo side lost their final match at the London 2012 Olympics on Monday night.

The unfancied home side, who had Lancaster Water Polo Club players Ciaran James, Alex Parsonage and Glen Robinson in their ranks, lost 13-4 to Montenegro at the Water Polo Arena, with Robinson amongst the scorers.

The result means GB, who have won many admirers with their performances against the world’s best sides, have lost all five of their Group B games.

The women’s team, featuring Carnforth’s Alex Rutlidge and Morecambe’s Beckie Kershaw, play Russia, who narrowly beat them 7-6 in their opening fixture last Monday, July 30, on Tuesday night in a game to decide the minor placings.
