Morecambe will be looking for a cash injection according to club chairman Peter McGuigan.
Addressing the annual Gala Draw at the Globe Arena on Saturday night the Shrimps chief said investment would be needed to keep the club strong but that they were heading “in the right direction”.
He said: “It is difficult for all clubs in League 2 now and it will only get even more difficult over the years with football’s finances focusing largely on the Premiership.
“But we have a great belief as a board that we will get things right on and off the field to make the club a competitive one in League 2 that has an ambition of making League 1.
“It won’t be easy but the will is definitely there. Everyone is working incredibly hard to keep this club as strong as it possibly can be.
“We are looking for investment into the club at some stage to keep us strong but we believe we are definitely going in the right direction.”
The Shrimps had a record number of entries from sponsors into the draw on Saturday night with winners Paul Clegg Chartered Accountants having their logo on the back of the Shrimps’ shirts this season.
Second prize went to Queensway Publishing whose logo will be on the shorts.
Other winners were Morecambe Metals, Furness Building Society, Stephen James Salon, The Laundry Company and Morecambe Community Sports.
