JIM Bentley says a target man is now his main priority as his players report back for pre-season training this week.
The Shrimps’ boss made two more signings this week with Gary McDonald and Lewis Alessandra joining the club on two-year deals but so far his efforts to bring in a striker have failed to bear fruit.
Top of his list was former Everton youngster Kieran Agard who opted for a move to League 1 side Yeovil last week.
Bentley met the player, who was rated highly on Merseyside, but was left disappointed and has now moved to other targets.
Bentley said: “Kieran would have been ideal for us.
“He would probably have been the quickest player in League 2 and would have been just what we needed.
“He was a good lad but he has chosen to play in the league above and I can understand that.”
