Morecambe boss Jim Bentley said he was “embarrassed” by his side’s heavy defeat at strugglers Barnet on Saturday.
Four second-half goals saw the Bees come back from Jack Redshaw’s 33rd minute opener with an ease that clearly angered the Shrimps manager who also saw Barry Roche sent off.
Bentley said: “I was hurt and embarrassed and I am sure the fans are all disappointed too and we have to make sure we bounce back quickly.
“There was something lacking and we all have to analyse our own performances because the best side definitely won.
“They were worthy winners while we lacked in every department. They wanted it more than us.
“We were second to every second ball, they pulled us out of shape and it was very lacklustre.
“I always thought we’d score but we lacked the desire to go and win the game. On that evidence Barnet are a decent side and it seemed like an end of season game for us and we weren’t good enough.
“It was a bad day at the office and not an acceptable performance from a Morecambe side.”
