Jim Bentley has called for everyone connected with Morecambe FC to stick together.

The Shrimps head to Carlisle on Saturday after losing 4-1 to Shrewsbury on Tuesday night at the Globe Arena, their fourth home defeat in a row.

Bentley said: “I can understand everyone’s frustration because we haven’t been great at home but we’re on 48 points and are in a better position than last season.

“I’ve said to the lads it’s about sticking together and I’ll say that to the fans too.

“We’ve still got 27 points to play for and we’ll give it our all to finish as high as we can.

“We’ve got to make sure we get more points on the board because the teams at the bottom are all picking up points.

“They’re battling, that’s been seen tonight and we’ve got to make sure we come out fighting, staff, players and fans alike.”
