Jim Bentley hopes Morecambe’s experiment of playing on a Sunday will prove a hit with the town’s public.
The Shrimps welcome Exeter to the Globe Arena for their first ever Football League game on a Sunday on October 26 with club bosses hoping it will have a positive impact on crowd numbers.
Bentley said: “It’s been very different because we’ve played Saturday away and then Tuesday and now we move onto Sunday and a Friday game (at Accrington Stanley) after that.
“It is very unusual and it just takes you out of your normal preparation. “It’s the same for both sides so it’s one of those things.
“The club are always trying to improve attendances. They’ve looked at this as maybe an opportunity to do that.
“Even myself, I know I’ll have a couple of family members coming along with it being on a Sunday and hopefully the town will get behind the club and really come out and support us.
“That’s what we want but we prepare exactly the same.
“We do the same things as we usually do, it’s just that it falls on a different day.
“I’ll tell you whether it’s more beneficial when I speak after the game!”
