Jim Bentley couldn’t hide his delight after his Morecambe side ran out 2-0 winners at Burton Albion on Saturday.

Two goals in three second-half minutes from Kevin Ellison and Alex Kenyon saw the Shrimps upset a Brewers side that started the day second in League 2.

Bentley said: “It was a fantastic win to be honest.

“To go to a place like Burton who had won five of their last six home games and score two while keeping a clean sheet was outstanding.

“We had to soak up a bit of pressure in the first half but we defended really well and I always confident that we would be stronger in the second half like we have been for much of the season.

“Once we went ahead we always looked in control and although I think we can pass the ball a lot better we will certainly take the points.

“The win means we have now passed the 20-point mark which is a good place to be at this stage of the season and something we can build on.”
