Chris McCready is set to return to action in Morecambe’s reserve game at Oldham on Tuesday afternoon.

The central defender returned to training last week on his comeback from a broken collarbone having missed two months of action.

He will be joined by Chris Doyle in the line-up on his return from an ankle problem as well as Marcus Marshall who continues his bid to get back to full fitness.

Jack Redshaw will not be risked however, having featured for the first time this season with a late substitute appearance in the victory at Burton on Saturday.

Shrimps boss Jim Bentley said: “It will be great to see Chris back in action and Marcus Marshall will step up his fitness but Jack is feeling a slight pain and we will not risk him.

“It was great to see him back in the first team squad on Saturday but we will definitely monitor him closely and make sure we look after him.”

The second string game at the Latics’ Chapel Road Training Ground kicks off at 1pm.
