Morecambe produced a superb second-half fightback to take three points from Mansfield.
Jack Redshaw led the Shrimps response with his first goal of the season on 51 minutes and was followed by Kevin Ellison’s brave late winner when he produced a superb diving header to score after more great work from Redshaw.
The winner came after Shrimps keeper Barry Roche had saved a 73rd-minute Sam Clucas penalty after the keeper had brought down Colin Daniel.
Mansfield took the lead in the 17th minute through midfielder Ross Dyer.
Chris Clements dinked in a high ball over the Morecambe defence and Dyer took advantage of Chris McCready’s hesitation to slide the ball past Roche’s left hand.
The Shrimps then enjoyed the majority of the possession but struggled to threaten then home goal and were forced into long-range efforts from Ryan Williams and Stewart Drummond which were both well off target.
The home side seemed happy to sit back and hit Morecambe on the break and the tactic almost paid off when Clucas went close to scoring a second on 35 minutes when the was teed up by the excellent Clements ut drilled his shot just over the bar.
