‘Get back to basics’

Have your say

THE Shrimps face in-form League 2 leaders Southend this weekend looking to maintain their unbeaten away record and bounce back from their third home defeat of the season at the weekend.

Jim Bentley will be looking for his side to show the resolve that has so far seen them win four of their six games away from the Globe Arena and maintain their run of form over the Shrimpers whom they beat twice last year.

But Bentley says his side will need to “get back to basics’’ against a side who have won their last five games, scoring 13 goals and conceding just one in the process.

He said: “There is no doubt that Southend are on a roll and will be looking forward to the game. They have lowered their prices and there could be a really big crowd there so it is going to be a test.

“But we have done well ourselves this season on our travels and got results by working hard and giving the opposition very few chances. We have had some exciting games recently but have been a bit too open for my liking and need to get back to basics.
