IN the Baines Bagguley North Lancashire and District Football League Premier Division, Galgate took advantage of Carnforth’s slip up to move into second place after beating a spirited Arnside team, who are fighting for their Premier Division status.

It was a great end-to-end game played at a high tempo. Galgate were always just quicker to the ball and threatened every time they got near goal.

Arnside, on the other hand, counter attacked with determination but it was goals scored by Lee Fox (2), young Jamie Fairclough and Chris Carradus that did the damage for Galgate, the impressive James Thornton scored two good goals for Arnside.

Carnforth Rangers dropped to third place after firing blanks against a much improved Marsh side.

The game was end-to-end and quite even, with both defences outstanding.
