Morecambe veteran Stewart Drummond has signed a new one-year contract at the club.
The midfielder, 37, was one of the Shrimps’ most consistent players last season and boss Jim Bentley says he is delighted to have him on board for another campaign both as a player and a member of his backroom staff.
Bentley said: “Stewart proved once again last season was a great servant he has been for this club.
“He had a great season last year and despite the fact that he is in his late 30s is still one of the fittest players at the club.”
Drummond said: “I’m really happy to have signed on again.
“I enjoyed combining all the roles last season and there was never a doubt in my mind that I wanted to keep playing if I could.
“I still feel fit and feel that I can make a contribution on the field and want that to continue as long as possible.”
