Lancaster City will have to try again in their bid to reach the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Darren Peacock’s Dolly Blues remained unbeaten this season as they played out a goalless draw at Evo-Stik First Division North league leaders Curzon Ashton on Saturday.
The teams will try again tonight, Tuesday, at Giant Axe for the right to travel to Southern Premier League side Stourbridge in the next round on Saturday, October 12.
In a game low on clear-cut openings at a Tameside Stadium bathed in Autumn sunshine, City striker Mark Jackson saw a header saved and Neil Marshall fired an overhead kick over the crossbar late on in the visitors’ best sights of goal.
But neither side truly looked like breaking the deadlock meaning one side will taste defeat for the first time this season in Tuesday night’s replay.
The game at Giant Axe kicks off at 7.45pm.
