Carnforth recapture form

IN THE Black Dragon Senior Challenge Cup third round, Carnforth Rangers, after last week’s disappointment, made up for it this week with a well-deserved 2-0 win over Slyne-with-Hest.

Carnforth played some excellent football ending with the experienced Vernon Middleton and Mark Plevey scoring the goals that sent them into the fourth round and an away tie against Storeys this week.

In the fourth round Swarthmoor Social Club and Morecambe Royals served up an excellent cup tie with both sides playing well.

The Royals were the favourites to win this game as their league position suggested, but met a determined side in Swarthmoor who matched them in every department.

There were thrills and spills galore, both sides hitting the woodwork when it looked easier to score.
