Jim Bentley believes his side’s goalless draw with York City was a point gained.
In a game that was far better than the result suggests, both sides had chances but couldn’t break the deadlock at the Globe Arena on Tuesday night.
The Morecambe boss said: “It was an end-to-end game, both teams gave it their all and both sets of players came off with nothing in the tank.
“Both ‘keepers have been fantastic, we’ve created plenty of chances and so have they and the only thing that was missing unfortunately for us was a goal.
“We’re struggling a little bit to score goals at the minute but it wasn’t for the want of trying tonight.
“There’s positives in there, it’s good to get back to a clean sheet, we created chances and on another day could have scored a few.
“There’s some good individual performances and it’s a point gained.”
Bentley was also pleased to see his side not go recklessly in search of a winner in an open game between two sides who have struggled in recent weeks.
He said: “You want to win every home game but the main thing for us is that we didn’t got flat out to win in and concede in the last minute which has happened in the past.
“The players were professional in that sense. We shored things up at the back and when called upon Baz (Barry Roche) has made a couple of decent saves.
“Overall it was a good game, both teams went for it and it was an entertaining 0-0.”
