MORECAMBE boss Jim Bentley is facing a battle to secure the signature of a new left-back.
The Shrimps are short in that position following season-ending injuries to first Laurence Wilson and then Manchester United loanee Sean McGinty and Bentley says he is working hard to bring someone in.
And having previously said there was no room in the budget for a new arrival at the Globe Arena, the departure of striker Jason Price to Guiseley means Bentley now has room to manoeuvre.
He said: “Guiseley approached us and it was a good move for Jason as he is training to be a full-time plumber.
“It works for us as well because it frees up a wage. We are after a defender, a left back, and are looking to bring one in on loan from another League 2 club but there is competition from a Scottish club which makes it difficult. The player’s been struggling with injuries as well.
“We’ve got a couple of targets lined up.”
