JIM Bentley is hoping his side can take the positives from Sunday’s FA Cup display against Sheffield Wednesday into their league campaign.
Although disappointed with the 2-1 defeat against the League 1 high-fliers Bentley feels there were some valuable lessons learned from the game that will help the Shrimps’ league campaign.
Bentley said: “I know it sounds a bit of a cliche but we can all now focus on the league and the main aim of getting to the 50 point mark.
“We have got 30 points from 17 games which is a good return so far but we will continue to set ourselves targets as the season goes on.
“We are now looking to get to 50 points as soon as possible and hopefully take it further from there.
“Because we have had such a good start to the season people are talking us up which is nice. But we also have to remember not to get too far ahead of ourselves because it isn’t that long ago that people were tipping us for relegation and there is still a long way to go this season.”
