NEW boss Jim Bentley says he is close to making his first new Morecambe signing.
Bentley is hoping to bring in an experienced wide man within the next week as he looks to build his squad for next season.
But it is only one of a number of decisions Bentley has made in a busy start to his managerial career.
Bentley said: “It has been a hectic week. I have been watching a lot of games and talking about a lot of players and looking to make a number of changes off the field as well.
“One player who I have admired for a long time has verbally agreed to join us and I hope to have a deal finalised in the next week or so.
“I have spoken to a couple of others as well and a lot of agents have been ringing me as well. I have a few targets in mind however and I know what I want and I am pretty much on the phone all the time at the moment.
“I am looking to get some more width and pace into the squad and I really want to bring in a couple of big characters who will play a massive part in the dressing room. It is really important to have big voices and leaders in the squad who can inspire people around them.”
