Morecambe boss Jim Bentley says it will be difficult to add new faces to his threadbare squad.
The Shrimps have been hit hard by injuries in the early weeks of the season with Jack Redshaw a long-term absentee after hip surgery and Robbie Threlfall, Chris McCready, Marcus Marshall, Kevin Ellison and Chris Doyle all also struggling.
And while he wants to bring in new players, Bentley knows it will be far from a straightforward task.
He said: “I’ve got to work with what I’ve got but I’d like to get one or two more in because the squad’s a little bit small.
“I know what areas I’d like to strengthen but it’s a little bit difficult at the moment. We’ll see.”
The one saving grace for Bentley is that the majority of his injuries are short-term, with Marcus Marshall the most likely to return against Torquay on Saturday.
The Shrimps boss said: “We’ll assess the injuries but thankfully there’s only Jack Redshaw who’s long-term.
“With Threlfall, McCready, Marshall, Ellison and Doyle, hopefully we’ll get them back as soon as possible.
“While it is what it is it’s a great experience for the younger lads who’ve been on the bench.
“Whatever team goes out there against Torquay will be prepared, ready and raring to go.”
